Everyone is afraid at some point in their life. Whether you are watching your child get on the bus for the first time as they slowly make their way to school, or you are starting an entirely new profession after only knowing one field most of your life ... fear has a way of making its presence known. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.

When presented with fear of failure, don't give up. Keep moving forward, one step at a time. Thomas Edison once said, "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." That is so true! Persistence and perseverance are key -- a little positive support and reinforcement from your friends and family doesn't hurt either, but it is ultimately up to you.

Keep yourself motivated by having clear goals. Another way to stay positively focused is to make sure your definition of success is realistic, and take it one goal at a time. If you have more than one goal, make sure you prioritize them in order of importance and focus on each one in turn. Too many goals without prioritization can quickly turn into frustration and lack of focus.

Check out a video we took during the executive retreat. It is a true testament to overcoming fear, and literally taking that leap of faith!
